Bengal BJP leaders hold meeting with central leadership at PM’s residence, discuss candidate list

KOLKATA: (Mar 12) At a meeting at Prime Minister Narendra Modi's residence in Delhi on Thursday evening, the BJP finalised candidates for a large number of Assembly seats in West Bengal for the upcoming state elections.

A senior Bengal BJP leader said the central election committee of the party discussed candidates for a large number of constituencies and finalised names after a series of consultations with the state leadership.

The meeting was attended by BJP president J P Nadda, the party's election in charge for Bengal, Biplab Deb, and several senior leaders from the state unit, including Bengal BJP president Samik Bhattacharya, Leader of Opposition Suvendu Adhikari, and former state BJP chief Sukanta Majumdar.
