A proposal submitted to the Lok Sabha Secretariat by MP Pradeep Purohit

A proposal submitted to the Lok Sabha Secretariat by MP Pradeep Purohit regarding the implementation of the 'Forest Rights Act, 2006' in Odisha. Its objective is to provide their constitutional rights to the Scheduled Tribes and traditional forest dwellers living in Odisha. MP Pradeep Purohit has pointed out that there is excessive delay and irregularity in the disposal of applications for individual forest rights and community forest resource rights. Many applications are being rejected without any valid reason, resulting in dissatisfaction among the forest dwellers. Pradeep Purohit has demanded from the government in this regard. The complete details of how many applications have been approved, how many are pending and how many have been rejected on a district and block basis should be presented in the House. A special campaign should be launched for the early disposal of pending cases. Similarly, Bargarh MP Pradeep Purohit demanded that the Gram Sabha and district level committees be strengthened to ensure the smooth implementation of this law.
