*Major Bovine Smuggling Bid Foiled; 21 Bovines Rescued by Jammu (Rural) Police in Kanachak*

Continuing its crackdown under *Operation Kamdhenu,* Jammu (Rural) Police foiled a major bovine smuggling attempt in the Kanachak area and rescued 21 bovine animals.

During the intervening night of 06–07/03/2026, a special naka laid by Police Station Kanachak at Sua No. 1 intercepted a *truck bearing registration No. JK13C-8175.*

During checking, 21 bovines were found loaded in the truck in violation of legal provisions. All the animals were rescued and the vehicle seized.

In this regard, *FIR No. 34/2026 under Section 223 BNS and Section 11 of the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals Act* has been registered at Police Station Kanachak. Investigation is underway.
