Maroof Raza the legend

We deeply mourn the passing of Maroof Raza (School Captain, Batch of 1975), a proud alumnus whose life was marked by service, scholarship, and leadership. A retired Indian Army officer with extensive experience in counter-insurgency operations, he went on to become a respected strategic affairs expert, author, and commentator.

From his Times of India Fellowship to his visiting fellowships at leading global institutions, his academic and professional contributions enriched national security discourse. His work as a lecturer, writer, and media voice inspired countless minds in India and abroad.

The Mayo College community remembers him with great respect and gratitude. Our heartfelt condolences to his family and loved ones. His legacy will continue to inspire generations of Mayoites.
