More than 1000 days of conflict
Sudan is facing a hunger crisis on an almost unimaginable scale. *Over 20 million people are trapped in extreme hunger, that’s close to the populations of Greece and Portugal combined.*
Over the last six months, the World Food Programme (WFP) has been on the ground delivering life-saving food to *nearly 1.8 million people* - in famine or risk of famine areas - helping to push back hunger in nine locations.
As my colleague Aziza explains from the field in Sudan: _“It wasn’t just food; it was hope in the middle of crisis.”_
With funding, access, and your support, WFP has shown that people can be pulled back from the brink of famine when food reaches them consistently and at scale.
