Members expressed concern over the apparent inability of the administration to enforce regulations concerning music systems during these critical times.
In-depth consideration was given to effective measures to mitigate noise pollution and provide relief to the public. The discussion also highlighted the legal avenues available to address perpetrators of noise pollution. Furthermore, the committee scrutinized the inefficacy of the helpline number issued by the Deputy Commissioner of Jalandhar, noting that those causing noise pollution continue to flout laws with impunity, thereby exacerbating public distress.
On behalf of the Servhitkari Welfare Society, we earnestly appeal to the government and the administration to uphold and protect the fundamental rights of all citizens. Such action is imperative to strengthen democratic principles and ensure that every individual can fully exercise their entitlements under the law, including the right to a peaceful environment free from excessive noise
