A major accident occurred on Lal Bahadur Shastri (LBS) Road in Mulund West, near the Johnson & Johnson factory and the fire brigade station.
A portion of a cement pillar/parapet segment from the under-construction Mumbai Metro Line 4 collapsed and fell directly onto an auto-rickshaw and a car.
Initial reports indicate 3 to 4 people were injured. An auto driver and a passenger were reported to be trapped under the debris and rescued.
The incident happened near the Johnson & Johnson premises on the busy LBS Road, Mulund West.
Response: Mumbai Fire Brigade, police, and metro staff rushed to the spot for rescue operations.
A preliminary assessment indicates a cement segment of the under-construction pillar collapsed.
The auto-rickshaw was completely smashed, and a car was also damaged.
