
Modern Scientific Research Key to Industrial Growth, Says LG at Kashmir University Exhibition
Srinagar, Feb 12: Lieutenant Governor on Thursday said that modern scientific research and innovation are essential for achieving sustainable industrial growth and economic progress in Jammu and Kashmir.
Speaking at the inauguration of a three-day mega exhibition organized by the University of Kashmir for young entrepreneurs, the LG emphasized that agriculture remains the backbone of the rural economy. He stressed the need to adopt advanced technologies, research-driven practices, and innovation to increase productivity and strengthen the sector.
Highlighting the role of youth in nation-building, he encouraged students, startups, and entrepreneurs to focus on research, skill development, and technology-based solutions to create employment opportunities.
The LG reiterated the government’s commitment to supporting startups and innovators by providing institutional support and platforms to showcase their ideas.
He also mentioned that welfare initiatives, including free ration for nearly five million beneficiaries, are being implemented to ensure social and economic security.
The exhibition witnessed active participation from students, researchers, and entrepreneurs who displayed innovative models and projects.
