माता रमाई जयंती निमित्त विनम्र अभिवादन..

Mata Ramai: The Epitome of Sacrifice
Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar had immense love for Mata Ramai. His heart would ache seeing her hardships. In the early years of their marriage, starvation and physical weakness often left her frail and exhausted. However, the courage and dedication in Mata Ramai's heart never wavered. The deaths of her four children caused her agonizing pain that pierced her soul. Despite this, she stood firmly behind Dr. Babasaheb, playing a resolute role in his journey. Mata Ramai was the living embodiment of sacrifice, patience, and selfless love.
In the dedication of his book "Pakistan or the Partition of India," Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar writes about Mata Ramai:
> "Dedicated to the memory of my dear wife Ramu... whose goodness of heart, nobility of mind, and purity of character are the symbols of the significance I have attained. She endured the crises that befell me with a calm mind, participated in every sorrowful moment of my life, and boosted my morale by never letting me feel lonely even amidst the attacks directed at me."

(A poetic translation of your composition)
Even while enduring the flames of sorrow, no frown ever touched her face,
For Bhima’s noble resolve, Rama never stepped back from her place.
Pulling the cart of life on an empty stomach, she led the way,
On darkened paths, she lit the lamp of courage to brighten the day.
Four little birds flew away (her children passed), leaving a wound so deep,
Yet to Bhimraya she said, "Your mission is the promise you must keep."
In the chawls of Dharwad, she never sought a life of luxury or ease,
Behind the 'Jewel of the World's' success, stood Mata Ramai’s peace.
For the upliftment of millions, she staked her very own life and soul,
That is why today, Bhima’s name echoes across the globe as a whole.
To such an idol of sacrifice, I bow a million times with pride,
Whose legacy of grace and debt is our greatest strength and guide.

माता रमाई
( 07 फेब्रु - जयंती दिनानिमित्त  )
 
         डॉ. बाबासाहेब आंबेडकरांचे माता रमाईवर निस्सीम प्रेम होते. तिचे कष्ट पाहून त्यांचे मन तुटायचे. विवाहाच्या सुरुवातीच्या काळात उपासमार आणि शारीरिक दुर्बलतेने तिला अनेकदा पंगू आणि शितलगात्र केले. पण माता रमाईच्या मनातील धैर्य आणि समर्पण कधीही कमी झाले नाही. चार मुलांचे मृत्यू आणि त्यांचेमुळे होणारे दुःख तिच्या मनाला भेदले. तरी डॉ. बाबासाहेबांच्या पाठी त्यांनी एक ना एक करारी भूमिका निभवली. त्याग , संयम आणि निस्वार्थ प्रेमाची मूर्ती म्हणजे माता रमाई  !

     डॉ. बाबासाहेब आंबेडकरांचे लिखित पुस्तकं - * पाकिस्तान अथवा भारताची फाळणी * ह्यातील * अर्पण पत्रिकेत * ते  * माता रमाई * बाबत लिहितात  -

      " *जिच्या त्यागामुळे मला महत्व प्राप्त झाले , तिच्या हृदयाचा चांगुलपणा , मनाचा उदात्तपणा आणि निर्मळ स्वभावाचे प्रतीक असलेली तसेच माझ्यावर ओढवलेल्या संकटांना अगदी शांत चित्ताने पेलवणारी , माझ्या प्रत्येक दुःखमय क्षणांमध्ये सहभागी होणारी  , माझ्यावर होणाऱ्या आघाता मध्येही मला एकाकी पडू न देता माझे मनोधैर्य उंचावणारी  , अशा विशाल हृदयाची माझी प्रिय पत्नी रामू हिच्या स्मृतीस अर्पण..

माता रमाईंच्या असीम त्यागाला आणि धैर्याला समर्पित ही एक छोटीशी काव्यरचना:
त्यागाची मूर्ती: माता रमाई
दुःखाच्या झळा सोसूनही, चेहऱ्यावर कधी आठी नव्हती,
भीमाच्या संकल्पासाठी, रमा कधीच मागे हटली नव्हती.
उपाशी पोटी राहून तिने, संसाराचा गाडा ओढला,
अंधारल्या वाटेवरती, धैर्याचा दिवा तिने लावला.
चार पाखरे उडून गेली, काळजात जखम होती खोल,
तरीही भीमरायाला म्हणे, "तुमचे कार्य आहे अनमोल".
धारवाडच्या त्या चाळीत, सुखाचा शोध तिने घेतला नाही,
विश्वरत्नाच्या यशामागे, उभी होती ही "माता रमाई".
कोट्यवधींच्या उद्धारासाठी, स्वतःचं कुंकू तिने पणाला लावलं,
म्हणूनच आज आभाळाएवढं, भीमाचं नाव जगानं गाजवलं.
अशा या त्यागमूर्तीला, मानाचा मुजरा कोटी-कोटी,
ज्यांच्या उपकाराची शिदोरी, आहे आम्हा सर्वांसाठी मोठी.
