Odisha Government Extends Interest-Free Electric Vehicle Advance for Employees
BHUBANESWAR – In a move to further promote green mobility among its workforce, the Government of Odisha’s Finance Department has announced an extension for the interest-free Electric Vehicle (EV) advance scheme.
According to an official memorandum issued on February 4, 2026, the state government has aligned the application timelines with the extension of the Odisha Electric Vehicle Policy, 2021, which is now valid until March 31, 2026.
Key Deadlines for Applicants
State Government employees looking to transition to electric transport should take note of the following critical dates to ensure their applications are processed before the close of the 2025-26 financial year:
Last Date for Application Receipt: February 28, 2026
Last Date for Sanction & Fund Release: March 10, 2026
Background and Policy Alignment
The initiative, spearheaded by Sanjeeb Kumar Mishra, I.A.S., Principal Secretary to the Government, serves as an extension of guidelines originally established in April 2022. Previously, the facility was set to expire on December 31, 2025.
The extension ensures that employees have an additional window to benefit from interest-free loans for the purchase of electric vehicles, supporting the state's broader goal of reducing carbon emissions and transitioning toward sustainable energy.
Note: All other terms and conditions outlined in previous department guidelines (dated 17.03.2023, 11.07.2023, and 04.10.2024) remain unchanged.
