Security forces are preparing to launch a decisive final operation against two Jaish-e-Mohammad (JeM) #terr_orists holed up inside a natural cave in Udhampur district of Jammu and Kashmir officials said on Wednesday. No exchange of fire was reported during the night as forces maintained a tight cordon.
Officials said a joint team of the Army Jammu and Kashmir Police and the CRPF traced the #terro_rists to a cave in the Jaffer forest area of Ramnagar around 4 pm on Tuesday triggering a fierce gunfight that lasted for over an hour.
During the #encou_nter one #terro_rist was reportedly hit but managed to retreat into the cave along with his associate.
Laterat around 7:30 pm fresh firing and loud explosions were heard when the #terr_orists allegedly tried to escape under the cover of darkness.
Following the renewed exchange Army reinforcements including paratroopers and dog squads were rushed to the spot to further strengthen the cordon. The night passed without any firing while security forces kept a strict vigil using drones to monitor the cave and surrounding forest area.
Preparations are now underway for a final assault to flush out the #terror_ists who have refused to surrender despite repeated #warnings
