Tension escalates over illegal soil excavation in the Rengti and Boaljur areas, with locals protesting and issuing warnings.

Villagers in the Rengti and Boaljur areas are terrified by the activities of local land grabbers and illegal sand miners. It is alleged that at night, approximately 10 to 15 vehicles were illegally excavating soil from government land adjacent to the Ghagra River, near the Shri Shri Smashankali Temple, next to the Rengti END embankment. When local youths intervened to stop them, the excavators verbally abused them with obscene language and threatened them with violence.
Angered by this incident, the local people organized a press conference on Friday. They clearly warned the government and the concerned forest department that if the illegal soil excavation from the land beside the Ghagra River continues, they will prepare for a strong mass movement. They also demanded strict legal action against those involved in the illegal excavation. The locals further alleged that the temple committee has a responsibility regarding how the soil is being extracted by building a road in front of the Smashankali temple. Present at the press conference were social worker and president of Radhamadhab Akhra, Satyajit Das, former teacher of Rengti Tapshili LP School, Ranjan Kumar Das, social workers Dwijendra Chandra Das, Parindra Das, Sanjay Das, and landowner Krishnakanta Das, along with other prominent personalities from the area.
