Odisha CM Launches ₹52,000 Crore Investments at Enterprise Odisha Silver Jubilee

ROURKELA, January 28, 2026 — Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi inaugurated the Silver Jubilee (25th edition) of Enterprise Odisha 2026 on Wednesday, signaling a significant push for industrialization in Western Odisha. Declaring the region the "core engine" of the state's growth, the Chief Minister underscored a strategy focused on regional balance, MSME support, and job creation.
​Investment and Employment Highlights
​The event served as a major platform for industrial commitments, securing a total of ₹52,026 crore in investments.
​Total Investment Intent: ₹52,026 crore secured through 22 MoUs and 5 investment proposals.
​Immediate Project Launch: Projects worth ₹8,884 crore were dedicated to the nation, consisting of:
​11 Inaugurated Projects: Investment of ₹5,708 crore (4,183 jobs).
​9 Grounded Projects: Investment of ₹3,176 crore (2,649 jobs).
​Total Job Potential: The new commitments are expected to generate over 20,427 employment opportunities, while the immediate projects create 6,832 direct jobs.
​Strategic Developments and Allotments
​A major highlight was the formal handover of land for a massive industrial project in Dhenkanal:
​Vedanta Aluminium: Officials handed over a letter offering 1,447.927 acres in Kamakhyanagar, Dhenkanal, for a proposed major smelter and a 4,900 MW captive power plant.
​RRR Corridor: The event emphasized the emerging Raipur–Ranchi–Rourkela (RRR) Corridor, highlighting enhanced regional collaboration and shared growth prospects in the industrial heartland.
​Focus on MSMEs and Skill Development
​Addressing the gathering of over 500 industry leaders—including representatives from Tata Steel, JSW, and SAIL—CM Majhi outlined a clear vision for sustainable growth:
​"Our strategy is clear—establish a few anchor industries in every region and develop hundreds of MSMEs around them as suppliers, vendors, and technology partners. This will ensure that our youth no longer need to migrate for jobs; opportunities will come to their doorstep."
​The theme of this year's Silver Jubilee, "Odisha: Best Place to Live, Work and Do Business," reinforced the government's commitment to building a "Samruddha Odisha" by 2036.
