Deputy Chief Minister of Odisha Inagurated 133/33 KV Grid Substation at Lugum under Koraput.

Report by Nishapati Nayak (Sub-Editor) : Deputy Chief Minister of Odisha Inagurated 133/33 KV Grid Substation at Lugum: Residents of the area will get relief from electricity problems.

A new chapter has been added towards strengthening the power infrastructure in the Lamataput area. The Deputy Chief Minister and Power Minister of the state, Kanak Vardhan Singh Deo, inaugurated the newly constructed 133/33 KV Grid Substation in Lugum village. The project will provide a permanent solution to the long-standing power problem in the area and thousands of consumers will benefit.

The Deputy Chief Minister, who attended the inauguration ceremony as the chief guest, said. After many years, the dream of the block residents has been fulfilled. With the operationalization of the Lugum Grid Substation, the residents of the area will now get relief from the problems of low-voltage and frequent power cuts. Along with this, local farmers will get sufficient electricity for irrigation and it will help in the development of small industries.

Giving information about the project, departmental officials have informed that this substation has been built using the latest technology at a cost of about Rs 28 crore. The electricity demand of many gram panchayats in two blocks can be met. Unexplained power outages will be stopped, the low-voltage problem commonly seen in rural areas will be eliminated, there will be improvement in the agriculture and business sectors, and the residents of Lamtaput and Nandapur blocks will be able to get electricity service, the departmental officer informed. Koraput MLA Raghuram Mach, CMD OPT CL Bhaskar Jyoti Sharma, District Collector Manoj Satyawan Mahajan, Chief Development Officer and Executive Officer Benudhar Shabar, Lamtaput Community Development Officer Jayant Kumar Meher, Machkund Tehsildar Dibakar Bag, GM Soundarya Kumar Patnaik, Deputy GM Manoj Kumar Lamaya, AGM Soumya Sahabi, MP Ramachandra Pangi were present at the program.

Other public representatives, senior officials of the electricity department and hundreds of local residents were present. The inauguration of this new grid has created a lot of excitement among the residents of the area.

The event was organized by Koraput Sub-Division Information and Public Relations Officer, Ms. Radha Rani Sarkar presided the said program as Anchor.
