Pakistan Defence Minister Inaugurates Fake Pizza Hut Outlet in Sialkot

Pakistan’s Defence Minister Khawaja Asif recently inaugurated a Pizza Hut outlet in Sialkot, drawing public attention. However, soon after the event, the company issued an official statement clarifying that the outlet was not authentic.
Pizza Hut stated that there is no authorised Pizza Hut restaurant operating in Sialkot and that the shop inaugurated by the minister was fake. The company further emphasised that the outlet had not received any approval or franchise rights from Pizza Hut, distancing itself completely from the incident.
The revelation has triggered embarrassment and criticism, with questions being raised over due diligence and the circumstances under which a senior government minister came to inaugurate an unauthorised establishment.
