Successful Eviction Drive Conducted at New Farakka Railway Station under “Operation Bhumi”

Malda Division of Eastern Railway successfully carried out an eviction drive on 19.01.2026 under “Operation Bhumi” to remove unauthorized pakka/hard encroachments from the premises of New Farakka Railway Station.

The operation was led by SSE (Works), Jangipur Road, with full support from officers and staff of RPF and GRPS/New Farakka. Local Police, Farakka, also provided active cooperation to ensure smooth, coordinated, and secure execution of the programme.

The drive commenced at 11:00 hrs.and during the five-hour operation,the joint team dismantled and cleared 10 unauthorized pakka/hard encroachments from railway land. The operation was completed peacefully by 16:00 hrs, with no untoward incidents reported.

This successful eviction under Operation Bhumi reflects the commitment of Malda Division, Eastern Railway, to safeguarding railway property, ensuring safe station surroundings, and maintaining obstruction-free premises for the convenience of passengers.
