AP Government Presents Silk Sarees to Goddess Vasavi

The State festival marking the Atmarpana (self-sacrifice) Day of Sri Vasavi Kanyaka Parameswari Ammavaru was celebrated with grandeur on Tuesday at Vasavipenugonda in West Godavari district.
On this occasion, State Water Resources Minister Nimmala Ramanaidu and local MLA Pithani Satyanarayana presented silk sarees to the Goddess on behalf of the State Government and performed special prayers.

Speaking on the occasion, the Minister said that Vasavi Mata, who stood firm for Dharma, remains a symbol of immortality through her supreme sacrifice.
Devotees from various states thronged the temple, making the premises vibrant and devotional.
