Balloon With PIA Logo Found in Border Area of Akhnoor

Jammu, Jan 19: A toy balloon bearing the logo of Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) was found in an open field in the border area of Kachriyal village, Pallanwala sector of Akhnoor tehsil in Jammu district on Monday morning, officials said.
According to a police official, local residents spotted the balloon and promptly informed the authorities. Police personnel immediately reached the location and secured the object as a precautionary measure.
The official said a preliminary examination and verification found nothing suspicious. “No explosive, hazardous or sensitive material was detected, and there is no threat of any kind,” he said, adding that the balloon has been assessed as a harmless, non-sensitive item.
The balloon has been taken into police custody for routine verification. Meanwhile, police have urged the public not to panic, reiterating that there is no cause for concern.
