Defence Minister Rajnath Singh to attend 10th Armed Forces Veterans’ Day in New Delhi


Defence Minister Rajnath Singh will attend the 10th Armed Forces Veterans’ Day in New Delhi today. Armed Forces Veterans’ Day is commemorated on the 14th of January every year to honour the legacy and service of Field Marshal KM Cariappa, the first Commander-in-Chief of the Indian Army, who retired on this day in 1953. Field Marshal KM Cariappa is a towering figure in India’s military history who laid the foundation for an enduring legacy of service, discipline, and patriotism. The day will be commemorated across the country at 34 Rajya Sainik Boards in States and Union Territories and various locations pan-India by 434 Zila Sainik Boards.
