
Macron Pushes Back Against Trump, Says India & France Won’t Be “Vassal States”
French President Emmanuel Macron has taken a firm stand against former US President Donald Trump’s threats under the proposed “Sanctioning Russia Act,” making it clear that global powers like India and France will not function as vassal states under any superpower’s pressure.
Macron rejected the idea of countries surrendering their foreign policy, defense, or energy decisions to another nation. A vassal state may appear independent but effectively operates under external control — a reality often cited in the case of Pakistan.
