CM Mohan Charan Majhi Inaugurates Lamtaput Atal Bus Stand via Video Conferencing

Koraput | Jan 12, 2026 - Koraput Town: In a significant boost to transport infrastructure in Koraput district, the newly constructed Atal Bus Stand at Lamtaput was formally inaugurated on Monday through video conferencing by the Hon’ble Chief Minister of Odisha, Shri Mohan Charan Majhi. The virtual inauguration ceremony was held at around 12:30 PM in the presence of local representatives and district officials.

The modern bus stand has been developed over an area of 1.2 acres with the objective of improving public transport facilities for residents of Lamtaput and surrounding regions. The project is expected to enhance connectivity, ease passenger movement, and support regional development in this tribal-dominated area.

Koraput MLA Shri Raghuram Machh attended the inauguration programme as the chief guest at the venue. Speaking on the occasion, he highlighted the importance of the new bus stand in addressing long-standing transportation needs of the local population and facilitating safer and more comfortable travel for passengers.

The Koraput District Collector also shared views on the project, stating that the Atal Bus Stand has been designed with a focus on modern amenities and passenger convenience. The facility includes separate seating arrangements for travelers, designated toilets for both men and women, and other essential infrastructure to ensure a comfortable experience.

Officials said the new bus stand would play a key role in improving mobility, promoting economic activities, and strengthening connectivity between Koraput and neighboring regions. Local residents welcomed the initiative and expressed hope that the facility would contribute to the overall development of Lamtaput block and Koraput district.
