57th Annual Sports Meet 2025-2026 of Malda District Police was held with festive atmosphere

The 57th Annual Sports Meet concluded in a vibrant, enthusiastic, and festive atmosphere. More than 400 police personnel of all ranks actively participated in the two-day event. They competed in various track and field events and indoor games, showcasing exceptional sportsmanship, discipline, teamwork, and competitive spirit.

Throughout the event, participants demonstrated a high level of dedication and determination, reflecting the core values of the police profession. The sports meet highlighted the importance of physical fitness, mental well-being, and teamwork in police life. Regular participation in sports was emphasized as crucial for enhancing police officers' skills, endurance, stress management, and maintaining a healthy work-life balance.

One of the memorable highlights of this year's sports meet was the vibrant cultural performances that added to the charm of the closing ceremony. The Singhi Dance performed by the renowned Tibetan cultural troupe from Gangjong Deughar, Kalimpong, captivated the audience with its beauty, rhythm, and profound cultural significance. This performance was a magnificent celebration of the Himalayan region's heritage and received widespread acclaim from all present.

Adding further prestige to the event was the performance by the pipe band from Kumudini Homes, Kalimpong, who impressed the audience with their impeccable tunes, discipline, and musical prowess. Notably, this band has previously represented India in performances in Switzerland. Also, a special attraction was the martial arts demonstration by the police children of the Taekwondo Club from Malda Police Lines. Their performance, marked by confidence and discipline, earned praise from all and highlighted the importance of physical training among the younger generation.

Another significant aspect of this sports meet was the active participation of family members, which created a joyful, inclusive, and supportive environment throughout the event. Their presence strengthened family bonds, encouraged a healthy lifestyle, and reflected the importance of family support in the lives of police personnel.

The closing ceremony was graced by Shri Rajiv Kumar Yadav, IPS, Inspector General of Police, North Bengal Range; The event was further graced by the presence of Shri Deep Narayan Goswami, IPS, Malda Range; Shri Abhijit Banerjee, IPS, Superintendent of Police, Malda; the District Magistrate of Malda, and other senior officials. The presence of numerous distinguished guests, including Smt. Sabina Yasmin, MOS; and Smt. Lipika Barman, Sabhadhipati, also enhanced the prestige of the event.
