IILDS to Celebrate Birth Centenary of Legendary Bengali Filmmaker Ritwik Ghatak

The Indian Institute of Liver and Digestive Sciences (IILDS) celebrated the birth centenary of legendary Bengali filmmaker Hritwik Ghatak at Natagachi,Sonarpur with a special programme aimed at honouring his immense contribution to Indian cinema.
Hritwik Ghatak, regarded as one of the most influential filmmakers in Bengali and Indian cinema, is remembered for his powerful storytelling, socially conscious themes, and experimental cinematic style. His films, deeply rooted in the pain of Partition, human displacement, and cultural identity, continue to inspire filmmakers, scholars, and cinephiles across generations.
