Robber in Mahilpur Heist Shot in Police Encounter, Two Accomplices Nabbed

A fierce encounter unfolded between police and robbers in the forest near Rampur Bilron village in Hoshiarpur district, leaving one robber with a bullet wound in his leg. Two others were arrested at the spot. SSP Sandeep Kumar Malik visited the site to assess the situation.According to reports, a few days ago, three motorcycle-borne men had robbed a money changer at gunpoint in Mahilpur's main market, fleeing with lakhs of rupees. Police swiftly formed teams to investigate, recovering a motorcycle from the scene. It emerged that the same gang had earlier struck at Sai Steel in Chauhal village.Today, Mahilpur police received a tip-off that the suspects from these robbery cases were lurking near Rampur Bilron forest. Officers tracked them down and signaled them to stop near the Bilron-adjacent woods. Instead of complying, the robbers opened fire on the police vehicle and an officer. The officer escaped unharmed thanks to his bulletproof jacket. In retaliation, police shot Onkar Gora in the leg, injuring him, and nabbed both his accomplices on the spot.
