Wide Cave in Lohai Malhar Becomes a Major Center of Faith
Kathua/Jammu (The voice of people news)
A naturally formed wide cave in the Lohai Malhar area has emerged as a major center of religious faith. People from both Hindu and Muslim communities visit the cave to pray for the well-being of their livestock. Villagers claim that several religious symbols such as a Shivling, Trishul, and other sacred objects have been found inside the cave.
According to locals, the cave came into public notice about three years ago when shepherds accidentally discovered it while grazing cattle in the surrounding hills. Initially, only a few people were aware of it, but gradually the news spread and people from nearby villages began visiting the cave regularly.
Both Hindu and Muslim communities believe that offering prayers here brings protection and good health to their animals. People offer prasad such as milk, halwa, and roti at the cave as a mark of devotion. The cave is considered a symbol of communal harmony, as people of different faiths worship together without discrimination.
Villagers say that the cave remains dry inside even during heavy rainfall and there is no water seepage, which they consider miraculous. Due to its increasing popularity, youths and devotees are now visiting the cave in large numbers.
The cave is located in a difficult hilly terrain, and locals have demanded better access paths and basic facilities to ensure safe visits for devotees.
