CM Siddaramaiah Hits Out at Media, Says ‘Listen Carefully, Issue Is Clear’

Mysuru: CM Siddaramaiah Hits Out at Media Over Leadership Change Speculation
Chief Minister Siddaramaiah on Sunday strongly reacted to repeated questions from reporters regarding a possible change in leadership in Karnataka. He made it clear that the issue exists only in media discussions and not within the government.
The incident took place in Mysuru on December 22, when the Chief Minister interacted with the media after arriving from the Belagavi Assembly session. During the interaction, reporters questioned him about the recent meeting between Deputy Chief Minister D.K. Shivakumar and former minister K.N. Rajanna, and whether it indicated a transfer of power.
An irritated Siddaramaiah responded sharply, saying, “I am clarifying this once and for all. The decision of the high command is final.” He added that he has already spoken to the party high command, which will take the final call and announce its decision soon. “All confusion is only there. The media is unnecessarily discussing this issue again and again,” he said.
Taking a dig at journalists, the Chief Minister questioned why the same issue was being raised repeatedly even after he had already clarified it on the floor of the Assembly. “We don’t have such discussions. This exists only in the media,” he remarked.
Clarifying the meeting between D.K. Shivakumar and K.N. Rajanna, Siddaramaiah said there was nothing unusual about it. “Shivakumar is the party president. Meeting him is natural. There are no rules against such meetings, and there is no need to misinterpret it,” he stated.
Meanwhile, political circles are abuzz as Siddaramaiah is set to become the longest-serving Chief Minister of Karnataka on January 6. However, speculation about a leadership change continues, despite repeated denials from the Chief Minister.
