
Varun Gandhi and Maneka Gandhi Paid Tribute to Late Sanjay Gandhi on His 79th Birth Anniversary at Shanti Van
New Delhi: Former Member of Parliament Varun Gandhi, along with Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader and Member of Parliament Maneka Gandhi, paid heartfelt tributes to Late Shri Sanjay Gandhi at Shanti Van yesterday on the occasion of his 79th birth anniversary. The solemn remembrance ceremony was attended by family members, party workers, supporters, and admirers who gathered to honour the legacy of the late leader.
Varun Gandhi, who has previously served as a Member of Parliament and is known for raising issues related to farmers, youth welfare, and social justice during his parliamentary tenure, offered floral tributes at the memorial. He expressed deep gratitude to all those who joined the family in remembrance and paid their respects. Remembering his father, Varun Gandhi said that Sanjay Gandhi’s vision, discipline, and commitment to national development continue to inspire generations and remain relevant in the present time.
Maneka Gandhi, a senior BJP leader and Member of Parliament, also paid floral tributes and offered prayers at the memorial. A former Union Cabinet Minister who has handled key portfolios including Women and Child Development and Environment and Forests, she remembered Sanjay Gandhi as a dynamic and forward-looking leader deeply committed to social reform, youth empowerment, and nation-building.
Several political leaders, party workers, and social activists were present at Shanti Van to pay homage. Many attendees recalled Sanjay Gandhi’s emphasis on discipline, modernization, and the active participation of youth in public life. The atmosphere remained solemn and reflective, with moments of silence observed in his memory.
The tribute ceremony concluded with collective prayers, reaffirming the enduring legacy of Sanjay Gandhi and the respect he continues to command across political and social circles.
