ODISHA CONGRESS : AT A CROSSROADS :

Odisha Congress at a Crossroads.
Former Barabati–Cuttack MLA Mohammed Moquim has written a candid letter to Congress Parliamentary Party Chairperson Sonia Gandhi, expressing deep concern over the party’s declining position in Odisha and across the country.
In his letter, Moquim points out that Congress’s repeated electoral defeats are not caused by external rivals, but by internal organisational failures, weak communication, and a growing disconnect between top leadership and grassroots workers.
He highlights that Odisha Congress has lost six consecutive Assembly elections since 2000, and that recent by-election defeats reflect deeper structural problems rather than isolated setbacks.
Moquim also stresses the urgent need for leadership renewal, stronger engagement with youth, and meaningful organisational reforms, urging Sonia Gandhi to intervene and guide the party through this difficult phase.
The letter is being seen as a wake-up call for introspection and course correction within the Congress.
