MEMCW AWARENESS PROGRAMME ON MINERAL CONSERVATION &ENVIRONMENT PROTECTION AT NALCO MINES

An awareness programme on mineral conservation and environmental protection for employees and peripheral stakeholders in and around the NALCO Mines.
As part of the programme, both Panchpatmali Central & North Block and South Block Bauxite Mines were inspected by the Group-1 Inspection Team comprising four members, with Sri Rajesh Ranjan, Head (Mines), M/s TATA Steel, as the Convenor. The inspection was carried out on 10th and 11th December, followed by the Publicity and Propaganda Function held at the Mines Nursery.
On this occasion, several competitions such as essay writing, quiz, and poster/slogan competitions were organized for employees and peripheral school children on the theme of mineral conservation and environmental protection.
Sri Nalinikanta Jena, CGM (O&M-Mines), graced the occasion as Chief Guest. Sri Ajaya Choudhury, GM (Mines) – Central & North Block; Sri Rajesh Jagadishrao Vinchurkar, GM (Mines) – South Block; Sri Rajesh Ranjan, Head (Mines), M/s TATA Steel; and other dignitaries participated in the Publicity and Propaganda Function held on 11.12.2025 at the Mines Nursery.
A short play was performed by the students of Saraswati Sishu Vidya Mandir, Mathalpur, Damanjodi directed by Dr. Ashok Kumar Mohanty, Sri Lokanath Behera and Sri Manabhanjan Jena on the theme of mineral conservation and environmental protection to create awareness among the stakeholders.
All the guests on the dais urged stakeholders to protect the environment and conserve minerals for the benefit of future generations.
Sri Malaya Kumar Sahoo, AGM (Geology), coordinated the programme with the support of senior officials and employees of NALCO Mines.
