MP Pradeep Purohit raised the issue of Jal Shakti Mission in Parliament

Thanking the Union Government for solving the drinking water problem in the villages of Odisha, what is the target of implementing the Jal Shakti Mission by 2028? In response to which, the Minister of Water Resources, Shri C. R. Patil said that the government has set a target to meet the water supply capacity by 12%. The Union Minister also replied that the government has a plan to provide 55 liters of water per capita in every village. On the other hand, in response to another question from MP Purohit, the Minister said that the money given by the Union to the states has not been properly implemented in various states. Therefore, all the state governments will take appropriate steps in this direction and after completing the work, the Union Government will release their outstanding amount only after that, the Minister replied in Parliament. Along with this, in various places in the Bargarh parliamentary constituency like Sapia, Padmapur, Narsinghpur, Ganjaguda, due to widespread fraud by contractors in the Har Ghar Jal Yojana, water is not reaching many places yet, so is there any organization to monitor it? In response to which the minister said that the Prime Minister has ordered a thorough investigation into this, the government has kept the bills of the contractors who have not completed the work pending. Until they have supplied water to every house, they will not get the outstanding money. Which shows the strong determination of the Prime Minister. Meanwhile, it is hoped that this question from the Parliament will soon solve the drinking water problem in the villages of the Bargarh area.
