
Sunabeda’s Infrastructure Upgrade Gains Pace After Collector’s Review
Koraput | Dec 5, 2025 - In a renewed push to accelerate urban development, Koraput District Collector Manoj Satyawan Mahajan undertook a comprehensive review of major civic projects across various wards of the Sunabeda Municipality. The inspection focused on strengthening essential public services and improving infrastructural efficiency in one of the district’s fastest-growing urban pockets.
The Collector’s visit covered important development sites including the Urban Homeless Shelter, the Aahar Centre, and the Waste Processing Unit, all of which play a crucial role in the city’s welfare and cleanliness framework. Officials said the review aimed at ensuring timely execution of projects and upgrading service delivery for local residents.
Speaking about the district’s development priorities, Collector Mahajan said “Sunabeda is witnessing rapid expansion, and our development efforts must match the pace. We are committed to improving core civic facilities so that citizens experience real and measurable progress. Every project must deliver results that benefit the people directly.”
He stressed that the administration would closely monitor ongoing works by civic bodies to ensure quality, transparency, and timely completion, “Efficient urban development is not just about initiating projects; it is about ensuring they transform into functional facilities that uplift communities,” he added.
Sunabeda Municipality Chairman Dr. Rajendra Patra, who accompanied the District Collector during the inspection, echoed the commitment to sustained urban growth, “The development landscape of Sunabeda is changing, and as a Municipality, we are fully aligned with the district’s vision. The Collector’s review has strengthened our resolve to speed up initiatives and deliver improved civic services,” Dr. Patra said.
He further assured that the Municipality would address minor operational gaps and ensure seamless functioning of all welfare and sanitation units, “Residents will soon see visible improvements as we enhance infrastructure and public amenities,” he added.
Municipal Executive Officer and other officials were also present during the visit, marking a coordinated step towards making Sunabeda a model urban centre in Koraput district.
