The Indian Museum, Kolkata inaugurated the exhibition “Yakishime: Earth Metamorphosis” on December 03, 2025, in collaboration with the Consulate General of Japan in Kolkata and The Japan Foundation.

The exhibition was formally opened by Mr. Arijit Dutta Chowdhury, Director, Indian Museum, and Mr. Ishikawa Yoshihisa, Consul-General of Japan in Kolkata.
Celebrating the refined tradition of Japanese high-fired ceramics, Yakishime invites visitors to explore the artistry, skill, and cultural depth behind this centuries-old practice.

The exhibition will remain open until 17 December 2025, from 10 AM to 6 PM, Tuesday to Sunday.
