Gandhidham to Guwahati: India's first rail shipment of bitumen

India's first rail shipment of bitumen from Gandhidham to Guwahati has been successfully launched by Central Warehousing Corporation (CWC) and IWare. The shipment has proved to be a major milestone in bitumen logistics. Bitumen, which is mainly used in road construction, requires specialized handling for its transportation. Its rail transportation has now become possible for the first time due to upgraded infrastructure in Gandhidham. This has provided a more economical, efficient and environment-friendly rail option as an alternative to road transport.
