Bose Institute Celebrates 109th Foundation Day with 86th Acharya J. C. Bose Memorial Lecture
KOLKATA, November 30 - Bose Institute marked its 109th Foundation Day with the prestigious 86th Acharya J. C. Bose Memorial Lecture held at its Rajabazar campus. The event took place on November 30, 2025, at 2.30 pm.
The lecture was delivered by Dr. Soumya Swaminathan, WHO's Chief Scientist and former Director General of the Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR), Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, Government of India. Dr. Swaminathan spoke on the topic "Fragile Futures: The Climate Crisis and Its Toll on Women and Children," shedding light on the critical impacts of climate change on vulnerable populations.
Prof. Chandrima Shaha from CSIR-Indian Institute of Chemical Biology presided over the programme. Prof. Kaustuv Sanyal, Director of Bose Institute, extended the invitation to staff members to attend the event as part of the foundation day celebrations.
