CUO and SEE Unite to Strengthen Extension Education Ecosystem

Koraput | Nov 26 - In a major step toward enhancing research and academic collaboration, the Central University of Odisha (CUO), Koraput, has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Society of Extension Education (SEE), Agra, Uttar Pradesh. The partnership aims to strengthen research, capacity building, and knowledge dissemination in extension education and allied disciplines.

The MoU was formally signed during the 2nd International Extension Education Congress held at the Institute of Agricultural Sciences, Siksha ‘O’ Anusandhan (SOA) University, Bhubaneswar, from 24–26 November 2025. Prof. N. C. Panda, Vice-Chancellor (I/c), CUO, and Dr. Jitendra Kumar Chauhan, Secretary General, SEE, executed the agreement in the presence of senior academicians, including Prof. Premjit Singh, President, SEE; Prof. Anupam Mishra, Vice-Chancellor, Central Agricultural University, Imphal; and Dr. Manjushri Singh, Head, Department of Agriculture, CUO.

Speaking on the collaboration, Prof. Panda said the MoU establishes a structured framework for joint initiatives in organising seminars, workshops, conferences, and academic events. It also includes cooperation in journal publication, research promotion, and training programmes in extension education and related areas.

As part of the agreement, CUO and SEE will jointly conduct national and international seminars, webinars, symposia, and conferences. The two institutions will collaborate on editorial activities, including special journal issues, and facilitate the exchange of academic resources. “The MoU also envisions capacity-building programmes for students, researchers, faculty, and professionals, besides fostering joint research projects in areas of mutual interest. The agreement will remain valid for five years,” said Dr. Manjushri Singh.

Notably, the 3rd International Extension Education Congress was jointly organised by CUO; Siksha ‘O’ Anusandhan (Deemed to be University), Bhubaneswar; and SEE, Agra. Senior officials and faculty members from CUO, including Shri Duryodhan Sethi, Finance Officer; Dr. Sanjay Kumar Pradhan, HoD, Dairy Science; and Dr. Anupam Dakua, OSD to VC, participated in the event. Students from CUO’s Departments of Agriculture, Dairy Science, and Forestry also took part, along with delegates from across the country.
