Assam CM Alleges Congress Running Cash-for-Ticket Racket Ahead of 2026 Polls
Guwahati: Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma has launched a sharp attack on the Congress party, accusing its leadership of operating a cash-for-ticket racket ahead of the 2026 Assembly elections. Speaking at a public event, Sarma claimed that Congress is selling party tickets to the highest bidders instead of selecting deserving grassroots leaders. He alleged that internal corruption and lack of transparency have weakened the opposition’s credibility. The Congress dismissed the allegations as politically motivated and accused the BJP of diverting attention from major governance issues. The war of words is expected to intensify as election preparations gain momentum across the state.
