Trending Pawan Kalyan hails Hyderabad police for cracking down on major piracy syndicate

Vijayawada: Andhra Pradesh deputy chief minister and actor Pawan Kalyan praised the Hyderabad police and city commissioner VC Sajjanar for successfully arresting a key movie-piracy operator in a major breakthrough against digital theft.
"Congratulations to Hyderabad Police and City Commissioner Shri VC Sajjanar for arresting the movie piracy gang," Pawan Kalyan said, expressing relief that the culprits behind notorious websites iBomma and Bappam were finally caught.
He noted that the film industry was suffering immense creative and financial losses due to gangs uploading movies online on the day of release. "At a time when the release of a movie has become a great sacrifice, directors and producers cannot control these piracy networks," he said.
Calling the Hyderabad Cyber Crime Police operation a major victory, he said the arrest came when piracy syndicates grew confident enough to challenge law-enforcement agencies.
Pawan Kalyan also appreciated Commissioner Sajjanar's broader efforts. "They are focusing special attention on betting mafia and Ponzi schemes and making people aware of how they are financially debilitating," he said. He recalled a previous meeting with the Commissioner, where Sajjanar explained how people were being cheated through fraudulent schemes.
Commending Sajjanar's push to regulate betting apps, he added, "The steps taken under his leadership will definitely benefit not only Telugu cinema but the entire Indian film industry."
