India Clinch Record Win in Hobart: Washington Sundar, Arshdeep Singh Shine on Comeback
Team India produced a memorable performance to script a record T20I run chase against Australia in the third T20I at the Bellerive Oval, Hobart, leveling the five-match series 1-1.
Making their comeback to the playing XI, Washington Sundar and Arshdeep Singh were the standout performers in India’s thrilling win. Chasing a challenging target of 187, India reached home with nine balls to spare, thanks to Sundar’s blistering knock of 49 not out off just 23 balls, showcasing clean hitting and composure under pressure.
Earlier, Australia posted 186/6 in 20 overs, powered by half-centuries from Tim David (74) and Marcus Stoinis (64). For India, Arshdeep Singh impressed with the ball, claiming 3 crucial wickets, including those of David and Stoinis, to restrict Australia’s late surge.
With this victory, Suryakumar Yadav’s men have bounced back strongly after losing the previous encounter, keeping the series alive at 1-1 with two matches remaining.
The fourth T20I will now be played in Adelaide, where India will look to carry the momentum forward and take the lead in the series.
