
Housing Dreams Realised: Koraput Celebrates Gruha Pravesh under Urban Housing Scheme 2.0
Koraput, October 20, 2025 - A joyful Gruha Pravesh (housewarming) ceremony under the Angikar Urban Housing Scheme 2.0 was held today at the Koraput Municipality Auditorium, marking a major milestone in the government’s mission to provide affordable housing to urban poor families. The event took place around 12 noon in the presence of local representatives, officials, and beneficiaries.
Koraput MLA Raghuram Machha attended the ceremony as the chief guest and handed over the keys to several newly constructed houses. Speaking on the occasion, he said, “Today, the dreams of many poor families have come true. The state government is committed to ensuring that every family has a roof over their head and lives with dignity. Development is not just about roads and buildings, but about changing lives and housing is a crucial step toward that goal.”
He added that under the ongoing housing programs, more families across Koraput will soon benefit, ensuring no one is left homeless in the coming years.
Koraput Municipality Chairman Lalat Ranjan Sethi, who also graced the event, appreciated the efforts of the housing department and highlighted the municipality’s dedication to people’s welfare. “Providing homes to the needy is one of our top priorities. This scheme has given new hope and stability to hundreds of families in Koraput. We will continue working hand-in-hand with the state government to expand such initiatives,” Sethi said.
Also present were Municipal Executive Officer Gyanajit Tripathy and all municipal councillors, who joined in congratulating the beneficiaries. The event concluded with smiles, gratitude, and renewed faith in the vision of a housing-secure and inclusive Koraput.
