NATURE SPEAKS: THE CRY OF THE BIRD.

🌳 Nature Speaks – The Cry of the Bird

(A real story from Dhenkanal – a tale of compassion and the silent language of nature)

Dhenkanal — a peaceful little town surrounded by forests, hills, and rivers.
Here, life flows with the rhythm of the earth — the whisper of trees, the hum of the breeze, and the chorus of countless birds.

It was around noon — about 12 o’clock.
The sun glowed high, yet the shade of the green trees softened its heat. In the courtyard, a pet parrot chirped its usual cheerful “Mithu! Mithu!”, filling the house with life.

But suddenly, something strange happened.
The parrot’s voice changed — from its sweet melody to a cry of pain. It fluttered its wings, calling out anxiously, again and again, in a tone no one had ever heard before.

Everyone in the house grew puzzled.
“Why is the parrot crying like this?” someone asked.

The unusual call continued, echoing with urgency, leading their ears toward the old open well behind the house. When they looked down, they saw something dark moving weakly in the water.

It was a koel — only its small head visible above the surface, trembling, gasping, fighting silently for life.

A moment of shock — and then action.
A rope was brought, hearts pounding as they lowered it carefully into the well. After a few tense moments, they lifted the poor creature out — wet, weak, and barely breathing.

The koel was gently wrapped in a warm towel, placed in a quiet corner. Two drops of Aconite 30, diluted in water, were given — a little act of hope.

Something wonderful happened then.
As the koel’s painful cry faded into silence, the parrot too stopped its sorrowful tone — returning to its sweet, natural rhythm.

It was as if the two birds shared a bond beyond sound — a language of the heart, where one felt the pain of another.

Evening approached. Despite care and prayer, the weak koel slowly closed its eyes and left its fragile body. The house fell silent. The parrot, too, stayed quiet — as though paying tribute to its wild friend.

The well stood still.
A soft wind passed through the trees.
The air was filled with an indescribable peace — the peace that follows compassion.
🌿 The Lesson of Nature

The wild creatures of the forest live by nature’s rhythm — the rain is their water, the trees their shelter, the sunlight their warmth. They speak not through words, but through feeling.

This true incident teaches us that nature is alive and aware. When we listen with our hearts, we realize that all beings — birds, animals, and humans — are part of one great circle of life.

To understand nature is to understand life itself.
If every human being, even once, extends compassion toward nature — the world will become a far more beautiful place.
