
Extension of the date for submitting applications for the Karnama Hayat Award (for overall service) for the year 2025 organised by the TG Urdu Academy
Hyderabad. 17/October. (Sarfaraz News Agency). Telangana Urdu Academy will present the “Karnama Hayat Award (Awards for Collective Services)” for the year 2025 in recognition of the services of Urdu writers, scholars, poets, journalists and friends working for the promotion of Urdu language and literature. Applications are being invited from friends working in various categories for the promotion of Urdu language and literature in this regard. Mr Taher Bin Hamdan, President of the Telangana Urdu Academy, while giving details in his press statement, said that 7 awards are given every year in different categories for the promotion of Urdu in the state of Telangana. These awards include two awards in poetry, the Hazrat Amjad Hyderabadi Award and the Saeed Shahidi Award; the Dr Mohiuddin Qadri Zor Award in criticism and research; the Dr Agha Hyder Hasan Award in prose; the Professor Habeeb-ur-Rehman Award in education and teaching; the Mahaboob Hussain Jigar Award in journalism; and the Srinivas Lahoti Award in promotion of Urdu. He informed us that in this way, a total of seven (7) awards will be given for the year 2025. Mr Taher Bin Hamdan informed us that this award consists of a cash prize of Rs. 50,000 per person, a citation and a memento. He informed us that a committee of experts is formed for the selection of these awards, which unanimously selects the personalities for the award. He informed us that for these awards, writers, poets, critics, educationists, journalists and friends working for the promotion of Urdu from the state of Telangana can submit their applications along with one photograph, complete biodata, bank account details, a photocopy of their Aadhaar card, their performance in the promotion of Urdu language and literature and other necessary details along with documentary evidence by the extended date of 30 October 2025. Applications can be submitted in person or by post at the Head Office of Telangana Urdu Academy, 4th floor, Hajj House, Nampally, Hyderabad. Mr Mohammed Safiullah, Director/Secretary, said that the application for the above award has to be submitted along with the proforma issued by the Academy, and the applications received for 2024 are also under consideration. The said proforma can be obtained from the Head Office of Telangana Urdu Academy. He said that applicants for more than one category should submit a separate application for each category. Mr Mohammed Safiullah, Director/Secretary, Telangana Urdu Academy, said that the awardees from Telangana Urdu Academy under this scheme in the past will not be eligible to apply again.
