Civil Aviation Minister Rammohan Naidu Kinjarapu Introduces Alliance Air's 'Fare Se Fursat' Fixed Airfare Scheme
***Historic 'One Route, One Fare' Initiative Aims to End Passenger Stress from Fluctuating Ticket Prices***
The Union Minister of Civil Aviation, Shri Rammohan Naidu Kinjarapu, today inaugurated 'Fare Se Fursat' (Freedom from Fare), a landmark initiative by the government-owned regional carrier, Alliance Air. The scheme is designed to liberate passengers from the anxiety of unpredictable and fluctuating airfares, thereby promoting greater ease and accessibility in flying.
The core feature of 'Fare Se Fursat' is a static fare system where Alliance Air will offer a single, fixed fare for select routes, which remains constant regardless of the booking date, even on the day of departure.
Key Highlights of the Initiative:
* Fixed Pricing Model: Eliminates the uncertainty and stress associated with the dynamic pricing model prevalent in India's aviation market, ensuring predictability of costs even for last-minute bookings.
* Pilot Phase: The scheme will be implemented on a pilot basis from October 13 to December 31, across select routes, to evaluate its operational feasibility and passenger response.
* Alignment with UDAN: The initiative is a direct extension of Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi's vision under the UDAN (Ude Desh ka Aam Nagrik) scheme, aiming to democratize aviation and make it affordable for the middle class, lower-middle class, and neo-middle class citizens.
Speaking at the inauguration, Minister Kinjarapu said, "Alliance Air has taken a bold and exemplary step with the idea of 'One Route, One Fare.' It is truly 'Naye Bharat ki Udaan' thinking beyond profitability and keeping the focus on public service."
He further added, "Since taking charge of the Ministry, my focus has been on making aviation more people-oriented. Inspired by the Prime Minister’s vision under UDAN, we have also launched Udan Yatri Cafes offering tea for ₹10, coffee for ₹20, and snacks for ₹20 at airports, making air travel more dignified and affordable. Now, we are taking a step further and addressing the major concern of passengers, which is the airfare."
The Minister acknowledged Alliance Air's pivotal role, describing the regional carrier as the backbone of the government’s Regional Connectivity Scheme (UDAN) for successfully connecting Tier-2 and Tier-3 cities to the national aviation network.
The introduction of the static fare system is expected to stabilize air travel costs for the common man, especially during peak seasons, and encourage first-time flyers from smaller towns to opt for air travel.
