Dkl 14/10 : The Great Grand Historic Dhenkanal Lakshmi Puja has started from 7th Oct 2025. The festival will run for 10 days this year. Total 38 Numbers of Puja pendals are in the City And more than 107 puja in each and every villages. Especially in Indipur more than 15 places where the Dhandatri is worshipped. But the Main attraction is the Green City where tourists and visitors from different parts of Country are gathered to celebrate this unique festival with joy. Similarly tourists from abroad are visiting every year from USA, Australia, Russia abd Germany to enjoy this indian socio cultural festival . The entire city has been decorated with attractive lights, light gates, Huge bambo gates And of course the puja pendals where Goddess Maha Lakshmi is worshipped having traditional mythological aspects. The special attraction is the Pure Stearling silver Medha where traditional filigree art of Odisha reflects. All the statues are decorated with golden jewelries and handicraft pattu sarees . The entire city is crowded 24 hours And this year the State Government has given this Festival Official Recognition to all the 38 Puja Mandap manged by different Bazar committees. Total 20 platoon police are engaged in the city to maintain the law and orders. Different volunteers, NCC cadets,fire brigades And Ambulances are offering their services round the clock.
This year Kanchan bazar celebrating 75th years of its Puja And the mother is garlanted with One Tonnes weight Chandi Medha. Similarly Meena bazar, Ganesh bazar,Kdibalya bazar, Lakshmi bazar, station bazar, Bus stand are having chandi medha and golden ornaments for Maa Lakshmi. Beyond it the Gates of Ganesh bazar,kaibalya bazar and other puja pendals attracting huge crowds. The district cultural festival And ORMAS Pallishree Mela And different Food Fiesta attracting tourists. The Emerson ceremony to be take place on 15th Oct with Royal passion, where all the 38 bazar will join Combined Processions. Different bands and Musical groups from different states to join this event to make it more attractive.
