Manipur Hosts State-Level Workshop on Digital Road Accident Reporting and Victim Support Schemes



IMPHAL, India — October 13: The Transport Department of Manipur, in collaboration with the National Informatics Centre (NIC), Manipur State Unit, on Monday organised a one-day State-Level Workshop focused on the Electronic Detailed Accident Report (eDAR) system, the Cashless Treatment of Road Accident Victims Scheme 2025, and the Compensation to Victims of Hit-and-Run Motor Vehicle Accidents Scheme. The event took place at the Institute of Driving Training and Research Centre (IDTRC) in Top Dhrussa, Imphal East.

Senior government officials, including Anurag Bajpai, Additional Chief Secretary (Transport); Kengoo Zuringla, Secretary of Science and Technology; and Jogeshchandra Haobijam, State Police Nodal Officer for eDAR, presided over the workshop.

The initiative aims to strengthen the state’s road safety ecosystem by integrating technology-driven reporting mechanisms and expanding access to immediate, cashless medical treatment and compensation for road accident victims. Officials emphasised the importance of coordination among transport, health, and police departments to ensure rapid response and accountability in accident management.
