Extreme rainfall crisis in Madha Taluka in Solapur district affected 1406 citizens who were evacuated to a safe place.
74 thousand hectares of area affected in Madha, many families displaced to the city of Madha.
Heavy rains and flooding in the Sina river have affected 74,754 hectares of land in Madha taluka. The administration has evacuated 376 families from several villages in Madha taluka and shifted 1,406 citizens to safer places.
Due to heavy rains and water released into the Sina river from Sina Kolegaon, Chandni and Khasapuri dams, 20 villages in Madha taluka have been affected. These include Loni, Loni, Lahu, La Mungshi, Shingewadi, Nadi, Kavhe, Mahadevwadi, Mhaisgaon, Papanas, Ridhore, Tandulwadi, Nimgaon Ma, Mahatpur, Darfal, Sultanpur, Khairao, Kevad, Undargaon, Vakav, Kumbhej. In this, 160 families, 80 each from two villages, Shingewadi and Tandulwadi, have been displaced. 700 citizens of these two villages have been shifted to safer places.
After that, the administration has shifted the citizens of Darfal, Undargaon, Mahatpur, Vakav, Kavhe and Lahu to safer places. Due to flood water, houses in many villages including Kumbhej have collapsed. Many people do not have a roof over their heads. Due to flood water, soil in the fields has been washed away. The land has become barren. According to the preliminary information received from the Agriculture Department, 25 thousand 771 farmers in 118 villages in Madha taluka have been affected in an area of ​​19 thousand 230 hectares. Sugarcane, urad, maize, millet, tur, onion, vegetables, grapes, bananas and other orchards have been severely damaged.

This is a preliminary estimate of the damage, waterlogging in the fields and ongoing rains are creating obstacles in reaching the fields and conducting Panchnamas. Mr. Sanjay Wakade, Sub-Divisional Agricultural Officer Said that the work of conducting Panchnamas of the affected farmers is going on on a war footing and the affected area is going to increase.
The highest number of 390 residents migrated from Tandulwadi and 390 from Shingewadi. Eight members of the family, were trapped. They had to spend the day drinking homemade food and rainwater.They informed the District Collector, Tehsildar and Group Development Officer about this. On Wednesday, They were safely evacuated by an army team.

One flood-srtcken man said that they were stuck in the flood for four days along with two small girls and a woman. No help came from the administration. We spent the days drinking the muddy water of the river, the helicopter took only two people. Later they didn't come back.

The rescue work and help to the flood -stricken by various NGOs and non-government organization is run day and night.
