Kolkata, September 26, 2025 - The 205th birth anniversary of the revered social reformer and educationist Pandit Ishwar Chandra Vidyasagar was celebrated at Vidyasagar Academy in Kolkata today. The event was part of an initiative by Hon'ble Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee.

The celebration, held at 11:45 am, was presided over by Shri Bratya Bose, Honorable Minister of the Department of School Education and Department of Higher Education, Government of West Bengal. As part of the commemoration, a Vidyasagar Memorial Lecture was delivered by Shri Achin Chakraborty.
