Seminar on “Swasth Nari, Sashakt Parivar Abhiyaan” organised at Divisional Railway Hospital, Malda

LResponding to the call of Hon’ble Prime Minister for Poshan, Fitness & Preventive Health, the Ministry of Health & Family Welfare (MoHFW) has launched the "Swasth Nari, Sashakt Parivar Abhiyaan” in convergence with Poshan Maah. The campaign, being observed from 17th September to 2nd October 2025 across the country, aims at strengthening early detection, ensuring access to essential health services, and empowering women, adolescent girls, and children to adopt healthy lifestyles for building a stronger and healthier India.

As part of this national campaign, the inaugural function of "Swasth Nari, Sashakt Parivar Abhiyaan” was held today at the Divisional Railway Hospital, Malda. The programme was chaired by Smt. Manisha Gupta, President, Eastern Railway Women’s Welfare Organisation (ERWWO), Malda, in the presence of Eastern Railway Women's Welfare Organisation members. Smt. Anupa Ghosh, Chief Medical Superintendent, Divisional Railway Hospital, Malda, along with medical officers and staff, actively participated in the event.

On this occasion, a seminar on women’s health and nutrition was organised. Sessions were conducted by Medical officers covering crucial topics such as the role of nutrition in maternal health, lifestyle-related modifiable disorders, menstrual hygiene and awareness. The discussions emphasised the importance of preventive healthcare, timely screening, and lifestyle management for women’s overall well-being.

Addressing the gathering, Smt. Manisha Gupta, President, Eastern Railway Women's Welfare Organisation,Malda encouraged women to not only fulfil household responsibilities but also prioritise their own health and self-care.

Female employees of Divisional Railway Hospital, Malda, actively participated in the programme. The event highlighted the significance of specialist health services, diagnostic tests, and counselling, which will continue throughout the campaign period.
