"Swachhtai Seva 2025”: Swachhta Oath and Cleanliness Drive in Malda Division

Divisional Railway Manager, Malda Shri Manish Kumar Gupta and Additional Divisional Railway Manager, Malda Shri Sheo Kumar Prasad led a series of cleanliness drives as part of the national drive “Swachhtai Seva – 2025”(to be observed from 17th September to 2nd October 2025) in Malda Division of Eastern Railway today.

The drive held at Malda Town Railway Station was organized by Shri Pradeep Das, Senior Divisional Mechanical Engineer (Environment and Housekeeping Management), Malda. Divisional top officials, railway employees, sanitation workers and invited guests participated enthusiastically in the drive.

The Honourable Member of Parliament of Malda, Shri Khagen Murmu, who took the oath of cleanliness along with the Divisional Railway Maneger,Malda and the staff of the department was present. Also present was the Chairman of Englishbazar Municipality, Shri Krishnandu Narayan Chowdhury.

Among the top officers of the department, Smt. Anupa Ghosh, Chief Medical Superintendent, Divisional Railway Hospital Malda, and other branch officers and staff also actively participated.

On this occasion, the Divisional Railway Manager,Malda requested the passengers to dispose of waste in the designated dustbins and not to litter the station premises. He said that proper waste management and waste segregation are very important to maintain a clean and healthy environment. He also mentioned that collective civic responsibility and regular cleanliness drives play an important role in creating a beautiful, clean and pollution-free public space.
