Koraput Municipality Bags State’s Best Award in Revenue Collection

Koraput | Sep 2, 2025 – Koraput Municipality has earned distinction by receiving the Best Award in the State for Revenue Collection, presented by the Chief Minister at a special ceremony in Bhubaneswar on August 31. The recognition has brought immense pride to the district and highlighted Koraput’s growing efficiency in civic administration.

Following the achievement, Executive Officer Gyanajit Tripathy and Municipality Chairman Lalat Ranjan Sethi shared their reactions at the Koraput Municipality office on Tuesday afternoon. They emphasized that the award symbolizes not only institutional performance but also the active participation of Koraput’s citizens in supporting municipal initiatives.

The award carries a cash prize of ₹3 crore, which will be utilized exclusively for developmental and welfare projects in the town.

Expressing gratitude, EO Gyanajit Tripathy said, “This recognition is the result of the collective effort of our staff and the cooperation of the people of Koraput. Efficient revenue collection is not only about financial discipline but also about ensuring better civic facilities. The prize money will be used to strengthen infrastructure and services for the citizens.”

Chairman Lalat Ranjan Sethi echoed this sentiment, stating, “It is a proud moment for Koraput. The Chief Minister acknowledging our efforts has motivated us to work even harder. We will ensure that the ₹3 crore reward is invested in projects that directly benefit the people—be it roads, sanitation, or civic amenities.”
