Special Poetic Conclave Barsar Asara by Banaprava Sahityasansad at HAL Township Sunabeda.

Barsha Asar of Vanaprabha Sahitya Sansad, Sunabeda

Date: 24/08/25 (RCD) A special Kabi Samelan on "Barsha Asar" was organized by Vanaprabha Sahitya Sansad at Annapurna Mandapam in the Sri Jagannath Temple complex premises of HAL Township, Sunabeda on 24th August 2025. This special event comprised of two sessions. The first session was held at Saraswat Sabha under the Chairmanship of Dr. Anasuya Nanda, President of Vanaprabha Sahitya Sansad. Secretary, Ranjit Jena read out the annual report and shared his thoughts and visions to take all out effort for successful functioning of the sansad and organise many more programmes in coming days. In this session Dr. Saurabh Gupta, Professor of the Department of Journalism and Mass Communication, Odisha Central University, veteran social worker Krishna Singh, Dr. Ramesh Chandra Dash, ex DGM o Nalco and Socoal Rights Activist and Dr. Ganesh Prasad Sahu, Professor of the Department of Odia Language and Literature, Odisha Central University, were the guests of honoura and Chief speaker. Dr. Sahu delivered a long speech highlighting various aspects of the poetry in present era and shared his choldhood experience . Dr. RC Dash in his short address highlighted the rich cultural heritage of Odisha and contributions of ancient poets like Kabisamrat Upendrabhanj, Adikabis Jayadev and Dinakrushna Das. The Chief Guest Dr. Gupta highlighted and compared importance of Drama and Poetry in enriching the sanskruti. Dr. Shantanu Nayak coordinated the session while poet Deepak Raut proposed the vote of thanks.
The second session was held under the chairmanship of Dr.Sudhir Pradhan, Vice President of Vanaprabha Sahitya Sansad. Poets Nivedita Harichandan and Dr. Ashok Kumar Mohanti anchored and coordinated the poetry recitation very systematically adding poetic ornaments to each poem and poet about objective and poet's introduction in this Kabita Asar. Vijay Kumar Khansama Patnaik proposed the vote of thanks. Poets Jaladhar Swain, Vijaya Pradhan, Ravi Shatpathy, Narayan Martha, Dr. Chitta Ranjan Mishra, Dr. Ajay Kumar Sahu, Dr. Jhansi Singh, Snigdharani Mishra, Shaheda Parwin, Pankaj Sahu, Swarnaprabha Rawal, Sameer Raut, Tapas Sahu, Sanjay Behera, Prabhakar Parida, Akshay Baral, Debendra Raju, Shweta Hota, Harapriya Sadangi, Managobinda Das, Manoj Dash, Saroj, Rakesh, Susanta, Vikas etc. were present and recited.The programme was very successful with the blessings of lord Jagannath. One of the important attraction was sincere effort of the Secretary Sri Jena and continuous follow up of founder Sri Babaji Jena who recited his poem in virtual mode being out of the Koraput District. Another Attraction was recitation of own poem by Veteran Poet Sri Krushna Singh at his nineties with able support of his daughter. The poem of ex Serviceman and a veteran of Indian Airforce on the life and sacrifice of Sekhayat on the eve of Paramvir Chakra award ceremoney touched everybody's heart. A v ery big crowd was noticed till end of the programme and all enjoyed the nice hospitality of the organizer.
